How do you work out your prices?

For carpet cleaning, prices are based on the size of the areas you want cleaned and how many steps you have. We have a minimum charge of £105 for the first area. The minimum price per area is £35, with discounts available for larger properties. Stain removal starts from £120 for the first hour. Upholstery and leather cleaning start from £50 per seat. Rugs are priced per square metre with a minimum charge of £150. (Prices as of 2025.)

We’re happy to provide a free estimate over the phone or via WhatsApp if you can give rough measurements. Otherwise, we can arrange a home visit to pre-inspect and measure the property.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We are fully insured with £5 million public liability cover, along with “items worked upon” insurance for added protection.

What makes your service different from others?

We are fully advanced NCCA members, IICRC members and Trading Standards accredited. We work to the British Standards Institute PAS86 standard. We’re also one of Shropshire’s only IICRC commercial cleaning technicians. We regularly update our training and even provide training to new and experienced cleaners — so you’re always in safe hands.

We’ve been cleaning carpets in Telford and Shropshire for over 20 years. Jared is also a trained carpet installer and carpet inspector. We use a powerful truck-mounted system with our own onboard water supply and off-site waste disposal — never down your toilet.

Our biggest strength is our customer service. Many clients have stayed with us for nearly 20 years because we offer a personal, old-fashioned level of service rarely seen these days.

How often should I have my soft furnishings cleaned?

Most manufacturers recommend professional wet extraction every 12–18 months. Regular vacuuming with an upright cleaner is recommended weekly. We can offer tailored advice based on your soft furnishings and carpet types.

I’ve had cheaper quotes. Why are your prices higher?

Not all cleaning companies work to the same standards. We follow strict procedures, invest heavily in training, insurance and equipment, and we prioritise customer service and long-term results. Some companies use low-cost equipment or skip essential steps (“splash and dash”), which often leads to damage or rapid re-soiling.

Our quotes are transparent and based on a proper pre-inspection. There are no hidden charges, no add-ons, and no upselling. Check our reviews — they reflect the quality and care we put into every job.

Can you remove tough stains like red wine or pet urine?

Carpets take a beating, so it’s normal for them to get spots and stains. Many spots are easy to remove; true stains (where colour has been added to the fibre) are more complex. While we’ve removed countless stains, no company can guarantee every stain will come out. Using supermarket stain removers can often set stains permanently — we advise against them.

Urine and odour issues usually require sub-surface treatment. We specialise in odour removal; please see our odour removal page for full details.

How long do carpets take to dry after cleaning?

Most carpets are touch-dry within 2–4 hours. Our truck-mounted system extracts more moisture than DIY or portable machines, helping carpets dry faster. We also use speed-drying equipment where needed, so most carpets and upholstery are usable the same day.

My carpet became dirty quickly after a previous clean. Why?

This is usually caused by detergent residue being left behind during cleaning. Residues attract dirt, causing rapid re-soiling. We use free-rinsing, eco-friendly products that break the bond between dirt and fibres, allowing them to rinse cleanly away.

Are your products safe for children and pets?

Absolutely. Our products are safe, non-toxic and WoolSafe approved — safe for children, pets and allergy sufferers. If you have a specific sensitivity, just let us know, and we’ll choose the right products for you.

Do you cover all of Telford and the surrounding areas?

We cover Telford & Wrekin, Shrewsbury and a wide range of surrounding areas throughout Shropshire. Some locations outside our main radius may incur a small travel charge.

Can you quote over the phone?

We can sometimes give an estimate based on your room sizes. However, for accuracy and fairness, we prefer a free home survey. Every property is different, and factors like soiling levels and fibre types affect the final price. A home visit ensures you get an accurate quote with no surprises.

Carpet 7 point process

1. Pre-Survey

This is carried out on all carpets that will be potentially cleaned. This is for fibre identification, to check for existing damage, potential problems and in some cases, cleaning limitations. The results will be fully discussed with the customer before any work is carried out

2. Pre-Clean Vacuuming

Around 80-85% of soiling in carpets is dry particulate dust/grit type soiling. The first important stage of all cleaning processes is to remove as much dry soiling as possible before wetting the carpet. All carpets are pre-vacuumed with a heavy-duty commercial grade vacuum cleaner.

3. Spotting & Pre-Spray

Some carpets may have spots and stains that need separate attention before the carpet is pre-sprayed. After these have been treated the carpet will be pre-sprayed with a product appropriate to the soiling and fibre type.

4. Agitation

Done by a machine, this is used to open the carpet pile and works the cleaning solution into the carpet fibres allowing it to work on the deeper down soils and preparing the carpet for rinse extraction. Agitation is a very important part of the cleaning process and commonly skipped by cleaning companies.

5. Rinse extraction

Solution is jetted into the carpet at over 110degrees C and over 250psi. The wand pass then extracts the solution and soiling and is lifted out by our truck mounted cleaning system* and wastewater is recovered back into our vehicle. This leaves your carpets smelling fresh and free from cleaning solutions. * dependant on access

6. Drying

Our extraction equipment will typically leave your carpets touch dry within a few hours, but as part of the service and for extra convenience, we use our air movers which will help dry the carpets fast if required.

7. Final groom and run through

Carpets are groomed if required and then we’ll run through the finishing details and ask you to check your happy and then its time to say goodbye

Q: What are the benefits or a truck-mounted cleaning system over a portable machine?

A: There is a huge difference between a portable machine using electric from a typical plug and a petrol-driven engine. We have our own power supply and bring our own filtered water supply to all jobs. It allows for such a variety of benefits. We have listed them below to explain in better detail:

1. Immense Heat

Our truck mount produces immense temperatures of over 230 degrees F. These temperatures kill bacteria, germs, and viruses in your soft furnishings and are simply not available from the average tap.

2. Vacuum Power

Our truck mount can extract nearly twice as much moisture from soft furnishings compared to most high-spec portables. This allows carpets to dry quicker and leave a superior result.

3. Rinsing Power

We have our own water supply on board, so there’s no need to use your water and fill buckets. Our truck mount can flush pollutants from your carpets & upholstery deeper and faster with the reassurance it is being fully extracted.

4. Waste Removal

In the unique times we are in, we can reassure you all waste from your soft furnishings is secured into our van mounted waste tank and disposed of off site. We do not tip contaminated waste or soiling down your toilets or around your property. All pollutants are exhausted outside at the machine and not back into your property.

Upholstery 7 point process

1. Pre-Survey

Our extraction equipment will typically leave your fabrics touch dry within a few hours, but as part of the service we will speed dry the fabrics as much as possible prior to leaving.

This is the second time we have used this company. We’ve just moved house and the carpets were filthy with a lot of stains. Wool carpets cleaned in 3 rooms. Very pleased with result especially as never cleaned before. Living room carpet had one particularly bad stain which had resisted all previous efforts to treat it. When I contacted Jared initially he offered to come out and look at it without obligation. Advised me probably not possible to remove all trace due to bleaching effect of a previous treatment but after his treatment stain is now barely noticeable, saving me the cost of a new carpet.

I am delighted! I had some repair work to rising damp carried out and the carpet was in quite a dire state, with both plaster dust and dirt from behind the skirting boards. We cannot praise Jared and Jenny highly enough! They resurrected the carpets in a rental property that had been left in a lamentable state by the previous tenants, saving us a princely sum on replacement. Throughout, they were approachable, knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and prompt, and the job was executed with supreme professionalism. Fantastic service.. very easy to book and discuss.. very reasonably priced. Arrived on time.. also had reminders of what to do if we needed to cancel, etc. The cleaning itself was fantastic.. I moved very little furniture out of the way as I found it difficult to lift furniture alone but they took care of that. The carpet now looks so fresh and new! I would 100% book them again.

I have cream carpets and living in a building site so lots of dust had settled on the carpets. They look like brand new. I am amazed at the difference. I got in touch and at first spoke to Jenny after we bought a house and the carpet had some very ingrained dirt. Jenny was really helpful and lovely. Jared then gave me a quote promptly after I had sent some details through and booked the clean. When they came I was hopeful they would be able to make the carpet cleaner than it was, but i have to say it is now brilliant! They worked their magic and I can now let my toddler climb the stairs without internally freaking out of the grot that was there before. We were going to replace the carpet but now I don’t think we’ll need to. Thank you so much guys.

Jared worked miracles on my Mums carpets at the bungalow she was leaving. There were a couple of dark stains which I had struggled to remove but he tackled this with his products and equipment. He was very knowledgable about which carpets were wool or synthetic. He took every care in protecting the corners of skirtings and walls where his tubing was going past in order to reach the rooms. The whole experience was excellent. I can wholly recommend this company for amazing results on carpet cleaning. Well done and thank you.

As a retired CEO of a substantial organisation it was wonderful to have received tremendous customer service from JLC, both Jared and Jenny are super friendly people and extremely efficient and courteous - in today’s world it was so unbelievably refreshing to find a company that actually does what it says and really wants to please. The carpet cleaning that they undertook was fantastic bringing our carpets up to a really high spec and they were very nearly dry when completed - tremendous. It is always a big risk these days using outside service providers for any job but JLC really are wonderful and deserve to succeed, the system of carpet cleaning that they use is tremendous leaving no mess and is so efficient it is unbelievable. I cannot praise them enough and now that we have found them we will not go anywhere else for carpet cleaning. A massive thank you to both Jared and Jenny. Jared and Jenny came to clean a hall, bedroom and lounge carpet, all of which were around 20 years old, made of wool and had a few indeterminate stains from the previous owners. The process involved systematic vacuuming, individual spot stain treatment, cleaning and drying. The carpets were o.k. to walk on by the middle of the afternoon. The result was really impressive and was well worth the money. The two of them worked hard for about 2½ hours before switching on the powerful driers. Now a word of advice: don’t worry if the process leaves areas of carpet which are raised (I did!). Jared assured me that, once the backing had dried out, the ‘pleats’ would pull out naturally (they did!) I have no hesitation in recommending this small business. Tony, Montford Bridge

A first class service from start to finish. The friendly team were very knowledgeable (which was reassuring), expertly removed some stains and thoroughly cleaned five carpets very efficiently. Their very powerful (self-sufficient) equipment far exceeded my expectations and this combined with the team's expertise led to outstanding results. I had a rug cleaned which was a mixture of fibres, cotton, wool etc, and had coffee, red wine and other stains on it and looked really awful, Jared and Jenny took the rug away for a few days and when it came back it was just like a new one, I couldn't be more pleased and Jared and Jenny are lovely people to deal with, I would definitely recommend their service.

Jared and Jenny sent me a text and hour before their estimated arrival and came promptly. They were friendly, efficient and got on with the job of cleaning my carpets in an efficient manner. A full and open discussion took place before they hoovered the carpets before starting the process of cleaning them. I was very pleased with the result and the reasonable price that was quoted. Jared and Jenny arrived on time and were very friendly and very professional. They were good enough to send me a text 30 mins before arriving so that I wouldn't have to book a whole day off work and could just set off when they texted me. We had our living room, stairs and bedroom carpets cleaned and the results are fantastic. It took them a lot less time than I thought it would. They are very competitively priced and, even if you do manage to find someone cheaper, I would advise that you still call them for a quote simply on the basis of how good they are and what a brilliant job they did. Sometimes cheaper isn't always better. We will definitely be using them again in the future and recommending them to all of our friends!!

Excellent service from start to finish. Jared contacted me back promptly and was able to fit us in within a short time. I needed treatment to a red wine stain on a beige wool carpet. A polite, efficient and effective cleaning service done on our sofas that we bought as in 'perfect condition' on e bay but came with many stubborn marks and a particularly difficult crushed velvet fabric to clean. The choice of methods to clean these were restricted to a dry cleaning fluid and a lot of manual work involved in brushing up the pile and removing the dirt. The results are excellent. We are very pleased with the service provided and would use again. Thank you for your hard work and achieving such pleasing results.

JL took my rugs away and cleaned them recently, and I could scarcely believe the difference they made to them. The colours are so much brighter now and the pile is restored. I couldn't be more delighted with the results. Also, as well as cleaning brilliantly, JL were very efficient and professional, and are lovely, friendly people. I'm intending to ask them to restore my rather worn sofa in the new year, and will definitely be using them to clean my rugs regularly in the future. What a great find!

6 months ago I had my carpets cleaned by J.L. Carpet cleaning and was delighted with the efficient, professional service I received. Therefore I had no hesitation in recommending them to my grandson who has just bought a new house and wanted all the carpets cleaned before moving in. They discovered that there were animal urine stains all over the downstairs carpets, which were only visible under ultra violet light, consequently they had to give the carpets special treatment to deal with the stains and did not increase the price quoted. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

When Jared first came to my house after my enquiry, to first check the material on the suite, he was very professional and polite and gave immediate confidence that he would take care of your home. On the day agreed to clean the carpets and clean the upholstery (3 piece suite); Jared arrived on time, put protective blankets in the hallway (and on his feet), carried on with the work after a quick brief on how to proceed (either carpet first or suite) and just got on with the job as his first attendance had suggested with professionalism and care. The equipment Jared uses are just perfect for the work at hand (look expensive and purposeful) Jared was thorough and did not stop for the best part of the day and only when he was offered a drink did he accept a cold drink (he needed it). When he had finished he explained what he had done and after inviting me to inspect his work, it was clear he was proud of his work (another good sign if more was needed). He left, cleaning up behind him and I was glad I choose this person/company to clean my carpets and upholstery. Thank you Jared, great job and I wish you continued success. David.

Professional from start to finish with amazing results. We have had cleaning companies previously to clean our carpets but JL are a few notches above the competition. They have all the equipment, eco cleaning products, they're extremely informative and the price reflects the quality of service. All the furniture was moved by Jared so no heavy lifting. I would highly recommend this company, no point going anywhere else. We've even signed up to an eighteen monthly clean with the price remaining the same for the future.
