Our training courses, the story so far…
It’s been such a long time since I’ve sat down and found the time to write a new blog post. Our last post, ” A new adventure ” was back in 2022! Time has just flown by since, and our courses have come such a long way from there. We’re now on version Mk 8 of the course, just showing how many changes we’ve made since the original one
Back in 2022, myself and training partner Lee Breen from Fabricmaster Eastbourne, were somewhat dropped into the position of training, and back then it was something I’d never dreamed of doing, never mind still be doing nearly 3 years later. The response has been overwhelming from students and experienced cleaners. These guys and gals are spending their hard-earned money to come and sit and learn from us, which is something to this day I still don’t give myself credit for.
Our courses have been greatly received accross the cleaning industry. We teach 2 days of carpet cleaning and spot and stain removal, which is perfect for new beginners and experienced techs looking for a refresh. We then move into 2 day of upholstery cleaning and our specialty, fine fabrics. This particular day of the course, draws the biggest crowds as here we clean some of the most troublesome fibres and fabrics for which the industry struggles with. This involves cleaning viscose, cottons, linens and velvet fabrics.
The great news for 2025 is the National Carpet Cleaners Association approved our courses and ourselves to allow people to sit their exam and from our training be allowed to join the association. The NCCA is the only nationally recognised trade association dedicated to the cleaning & maintenance of carpets, hard flooring and soft furnishings. NCCA membership comprises professionally trained carpet & upholstery cleaning technicians who are fully insured and follow a Code of Practice. This acceptance was a great privilege and has cemented our courses in the position of being in the forefront of training excellence within the industry.
But what have i been upto training wise?….
Well, i always believe in constant learning and expanding my knowledge. You cannot just simply stand still and say everything has been learnt. As some will know i have been in the carpet industry for over 20 years and spent 10 years as a carpet installer. I always wanted to become a carpet inspector. Obviously not at the top of most peoples wish list job wise, but did you know there are less than 100 carpet inspectors worldwide
